Wedding Experts in the Spotlight: Martha Manning Photography

By Christina Wight
on August 01, 2015

Martha Manning is not only a woman I think very highly of- but she is a wonderful friend of mine. I have had the opportunity to see her in action- and she is nothing short of amazing. Some of her pictures have brought me to tears in the amount of emotion they captured. She is simply brilliant!

As a teenager, she had the opportunity to study under Byron Baldwin in Charlotte, NC.  She was selected as a high school student to participate in a summer school program for young photographers at UNC's School of Journalism.  At Appalachian State University, She earned a degree in Technical Photography.  In Vancouver, British Columbia, She earned a graduate degree in Photography at Focal Point Visual Arts Center and had the amazing experience of studying under world renowned photographers James Emler, Kaj R. Svensson, Ian McGuffie, and Alex Waterhouse-Hayward.

Along the way, She has enjoyed photographing weddings, fine art, and fashion with a photojournalistic approach. By allowing natural moments to unfold, the photographs she creates are the evidence of the moment in beautiful form of a mixture of black and white and color.  Her eye leans toward the story of the moment, not contrived or overproduced.

Her work has been featured in Southern Weddings Magazine, Weddings Unveiled, The Knot, ESPN The Magazine, and Grace Ormonde Wedding Style.  She is on the Board of WPS (Wedding Photographic Society).  She is also an active member of NACE (National Association of Catering Executives), ISES (International Special Events Society), and PPA (Professional Photographers of America).

Worried about Rain on Your Wedding Day?

By Christina Wight
on April 10, 2015

Most brides picture a perfect day of beautiful blue skies and sunshine, but what if it rains on her wedding day?
There is an old saying that rain on your wedding day is a lucky omen. The Italians even have a saying for it, "Sposa bagnata, sposa fortunata", which means that a wet bride is a lucky bride. For an indoor wedding, the rain is more of an annoyance than a real problem, with a little planning ahead you can be prepared for virtually any wedding day splashes that might come your way.
Whether you consider rain to be a lucky sign or not, there is always a chance that it will fall on your wedding day. To make wet weather less of an issue, plan in advance for inclement weather. If you are planning to host your wedding outdoors, you need to have a solid Plan B.  .........We got you covered!
The WetKnot is a sophisticated bridal gown raincoat that was designed to protect the bride and her dress from nature’s unpredictable elements. With this essential by her side, a bride can be prepared for virtually any wet weather emergency on her wedding day. The WetKnot’s patented design wraps gracefully under and gathers up the gown - the perfect solution to wet grass and walkways on the way to ceremony and reception sites. Brides will appreciate the quality and detail of satin cording and rhinestone snaps that give each raincoat simplicity and elegance while showing every detail of the brides dress through the crystal clear coat. The 3/4 length sleeve accents the delicate wrist and also helps give attention to the bouquet while an oversized hood gives brides room for all hairstyles, veils and tiaras. The WetKnot is a bridal must-have and an essential for every bride’s Wedding Day Survival Kit.
